Default Differential Trouble with 96' 2.8q??

Hi,

I just made it to my first, my own A4 and already have a problem.

- when turning tightly, I feel quite some resistance in the drivetrain.

It almost feels like a locked differential. Is this commom? Or does anybody have a hint to a solution? Would a fluid change do the trick? The puppy has already midaged 145k miles to it!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Mike

Sounds like it may be a differential problem. I'd take it to the dealer. I can't believe I actually just typed that, but torsen differentials aren't something I'd want just anybody working on.

Well,

I think i just got hit in the stomac. Just the differential Audi quotes $3,600 nice, he?
Did anyone ever opened one up? because i'm really tempted..... thinking about $3,600

I got a lemon, good looking though

Is anyone here in the Boston area who feels like visiting a lemon seller????

Thank for your input!

Yeah, definitely go for a used differential. Will your dealer allow you to supply your own parts?

Dealers normally won't install any used parts. If it's a new part they might put it on.

An independent mechanic should be able to replace a diff.
