Anyone know how much a diagnostic from AUDI would cost you in CANADIAN DOLLARS? Also what does the diagnostic consist of? Is it everything from breaks to timing belt to interior instruments? Would really appreciate it if someone could reply. Thanks

 

My 2003 A4 3.0 has the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! You see, I took it in for it's 40,000 mile service, and Audi changed the plugs and performed a recall on the fuel pump. Ever since then, every time I start after putting fuel in, it just sputters and doesn't get about 200 RPM and dies, or has terrible trouble starting...You know Audi, their going to tell me that they can't do anything unless they see it happen...*****...

 

the a quite a few thing which can cause that but im going for the canister purge valve,

to test ensure ignition is off.
disconnect EVAP multi-plug.
check resistance between EVAP valve terminals.
reading should be 23-30 ohms

 

Wow, I'm surprised to see this thread still circulating as I started it two years ago.

The problem appeared to be in the small plastic check valve that controls vacuum to the EVAP electronic valve. The check valve in the vacuum line had chaffed against the metal holder for the plastic cover over the air box. It had rubbed a small hole in it. aproblem was fixed 18 months ago.

I never looked at the dates but yes it would be to start a new thread, perhaps he/she didn't know how to explain the fault?? and used the (search) to find some info you never know it could catch on

 

I had just bought the car a month earlier. That was me as a newbie 70K miles ago, before I bought a VAG, Bentley, chip, and other parts.

Next week I'm having a tipchip put in at AWE tuing. Long overdue..


Since your car is under warranty, have them check the EVAP purge valve and related components.

 

thumbs up on using the search engine, lol...so many people on here tell people to use the search option and than someone does and he gets replies like... "it would have just been easier to start a new thread"
