disconnecting abs
Any step by step instructions for disconnecting the abs system without setting off any faults. And can this be done without harming the module or other components which may still be working?
My abs system kicks in just before I stop and it's annoying to drive around like that so I want to completely disable the abs system until I can get the problem fixed. I think it's a problem with the rear wheel speed sensors but now that school is starting I don't have the money or time to get those changed (assuming that'll even fix the problem, maybe it's the module). I just want it to stop engaging the abs everytime i brake before i make a full stop and I figure the best way to do this is to disable the ABS system completely. I'm not a car mechanic so I'm lookin for an easy way to do this, I've heard somethign about unplugging the module and also something about if one of the speed sensors is disconnected the whole system shuts off. I'm considering buying a car jack and taking a look around the wheels myself and cleaning out the sensors myself. If that doesn't work maybe just pulling one out and driving without abs?
