Drove from FL to NY
Took the whip to NY. Ive seen alot of post about mpg so i figured id post what i have. First full tank i drove 489 miles non stop i averaged 30.8 mpg. I thought that is pretty good probably could of gone another 25 miles or so but who knows where the next gas station would be. Anybody get anything close to that. Oh and i was between 80 and 90 mph the whole way up mostly just over 80.
i dunno man, 95 is a ton of fun to drive on, me and a buddy drove down to florida, took two cars and we just screwed around the whole way there doin like 90-130 the whole way down. crazy amounts of fun when no traffic
I get to drive from FL to NH this winter- YAY. And from my experience on long trips, that MPG is right on. I'm gonna make my wifey drive most of it--she likes driving alot, so I'll just play her Nintendo DS[8D].
i don't think license points travel out of state for the most part. i live in ny, and there's 2 states that the points travel from, one of which is ohio.. i forget the other, but i believe its on the west coast for some ungodly reason. i've gotten tickets in jersey, conn, mass... never seen anything on my license here. you should be in the clear, check with the local dmv to make sure.
that is good goingbetween 80 and 90mph. i am a daily highway driver and i get 33 going around 65. if go to 89 i only get around 27, with the 91 octane, 93 when i can find it. cruise control.tiptronic. 03 1.8T
o i just saw, mine is quattro so that makes a diff too, i plan to drive down to DC (from ME) but i am kinda cautious, i keep having problems so i dont dare go farther than MA.
In Jan i had to replace coil pack in cyl 2, in March, i had 1,3 and 4 go ALL at the same time. which sucks by the way.

30.8 seems about right for an a4. In mine on the highway, when I cruise at about 70, I get around 28~29. But if I run at about 88~89mph, right at 4k rpms, I get 32~33. I believe it has to do with the peak torque of the motor being so high, because of the bigger turbo, but I really dunno.
That excellent mileage, im a highway driver to work, but in only on the highway for 10 minutes, jsut long enough to warm the engine then im at werk, so when i get the chance to go on a long Highway drive i like it, i get really good gas mileage. Since i changed the air filter and oil last weekend ive noticed that my car pulls better with better gas mileage, thats somethign you should look at b4 going on a long drive.
