Default RE: DV-- A World of Difference!

Well, I just got back late. My car is having serious problems. I don't think it's related to the new DV. But, since it happened the same day I put a new DV in, I'm wondering if there could be a connection.

I replaced the coolant temp sensor at the same time I replaced the DV. Then, later in the evening, I disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes, hoping to reset the CEL. (I had a coolant temp CEL) AFter I reconnected it, the transmission is freaking out. It won't shift. Then, it shifts HARD. SOmetimes, it feels like it slipped out of gear, even though it is an auto trans. Not a tip. I can't see how replacing the coolant temp sensor, DV, or disconnecting the battery could be related to the transmission problems. But, who knows about those Germans.

Ideas anyone?

Sorry greg, I have no idea. I got a manual...

Post this in a new thread, you might get some faster responses that way

OK, weird thing. This morning, the transmission is acting fine. I'm thinking that somehow, the Trans ECU needed to reboot. Now, I'm thinking that I can notice more boost as well. Maybe, it's the cool air, the new DV or the water injection.......or, my imagination.

You really don't want to put it in backwards. Bad idea. The vacuum trying to open the valve will be fighting the boost pressure holding the valve closed, instead of the boost and vacuum working together.

ok, this subject has been debated over and over. But, there is still no consensus. Does the boost side feed into the bottom, or, side of the DV? If it feeds into the bottom, the boost will open it without the vacuum assist if the boost gets high enough. Is that the intent? I think Trans said in another thread that it should feed into the side so that the only thing that can open it is the vacuum. If it needs to feed into the side, mine is in backwards.
