DV Worn-Out?
Hello, I have been reading this forum foralmost two years nowand all the info is great and it helped me choosemy A4!I have a 2001 A4 1.8Tand it’s a blast to drive. Butrecently and its happening more often, when its boosts the needle on the boost gauge is vibrating back and forth really quick not big Psi changes just fast vibrating, but I am get full boost most of the time. It does itpretty muchatall psi levels only when I am pushing for morepsi. Not sure what DV is in the car. The problem doesn’t always happen all the time but its getting more prescient. But I am guessing the DV is leaking and it’s on its way out and it is to blame for the problem I hope. Any help would be great Thx -Jon.

RE: DV Worn-Out?
Odd. Sounds more like the n75 valve going bad than the DV. With a bad DV, you'd see the boost drop. Since the N75 is electronic and controls your boost, that's what I'd go for first.
Before you do anything, check all the vacuum lines and get it scanned for codes. I heard Autozone is charging for codes now, but that might be false or just one or two shops trying to make some extra $. If you don't have access to a VAG-COM, you can try the vag-com locator.
