engine noise

this is annoying the crap outta me its a squaling from the back of the enging more twords the bottom and it only dose it at an idle tap the gas it goes away to it comes back to an idle any idea it sounds just like a belt but its not in the frunt HELP SOME! im not even in my car and i can still hear it in my head its killin me

when you ask questions regarding your engine/drivetrain, or anything about your car really, you should probably include some basic info about your car. stuff like year, engine, transmission would help other people to help you, and would increase your chances of getting a reply.

if I had to guess I'd say it's your throwout bearing.

01' a4 2.8 quattro its not the belt its from the rear of the engine you can hear it better if you put ur ear next to the wheels eather side or get under the car it will only do it at an idle and one day it will do it and the next it wont tryed going threw the gears turring the wheel heat on and off ect...

it dose it when its stationary if i come to light or let it sit in the drive way i hear it , it goes away when i drive because the rpms go up
