Hey guys, I have just joined this forum, bought my first audi- 1998 A4 2.8 Q with adjustable springs (103k), I've owned 3 saabs, 2 volks, 1 mercedes, 1 alfa, and a bmw, and now my first audi. Greatly impressed by the car, great handling and most importantly, FUN TO DRIVE!!!
Anyway, here's the question, I noticed a lot of people mentioning engine overhauls done at the expense of Audi, how's the deal with that?? Was there a recall on the engine??? If so, is there a way to find out if my Audi received the same treatment and if I am able to receive that treatment if possible?? Any info will help!! The car runs great, just curious. thanks!!

 

I don't think that's going to happen If it does call me cuz I need to get on that

 

Engine overhaul? Audi replaces some of the 1.8t engines because of a defective oil pump... not the 2.8.

 

Make sure that the timing belt , tensioners etc have been done. If not you are on borrowed time.

Once you make sure that is done, I suggest swapping out all the fluids and replacing them with fresh, including transmsiion, differentials, brake fluid, power steering (replace only with Pentosin 11)
