well i am going to have it towed to audi and have them look at it in the morning
dude... Dont be so weak... Imagine how defeated you will feel when they tell you its something stupid like a fuse or an ig. switch. If its your ignition switch/fuse you should know by looking at it carefuly.

well if it was at my house where i could work on it i would but its at the mall parking lot, and thats not very fun to work on your car there, also its suppose to be really nce this weekend and i want to be able to use my new claybar and install my short shifter. if it is a probably like that that means it s a quick fix and i will be able to do it but i dont want to buy new parts, waste time installing them and then realize it didnt fix my problem

Check the fuse for the ignition switch. This happened to me before on the road. I checked the fuse box under hood and noticed that one of them burned. ran to autozone, put in the new fuse and woala... hope this is your case.

I had this exact same problem about a month ago - everything looking normal except the starter not ctranking. Engine had been off for about 10 minutes. I didn't believe it was a battery or charging system problem since there had been no problems with cranking, dim lights or other symtoms. Vag-comed it and no codes. I kept trying to start it for a couple of days with no change (maybe 15-20 times).

Finally, I decided to start at the starter with a voltmeter and work my way back to the ignition switch until I found where the problem was. So I pulled the wire off of the starter and found (very surprised) that I was getting voltage there when the ignition switch was turned to start. So now I'm thinking bad starter but I reconnected the wire to the starter and then it worked. Has worked since - maybe 80-100 starts so far. My suspicion is that there was a bad connection between the wire and the starter, and pulling it off and plugging it back on fixed it. It didn't look corroded so who knows. But it clearly was not the battery, charging system, a fuse, "park" switch on the shifter, etc.

Hope this helps...

well i have the car back, nothing to serious it ended up being the switch the clutch hits when you push it in. so basically when i had my clutch pushed in my car didnt reconize it and it would not send any power to the starter, the guys said it was a freak thing that they had never seen before, and it took them about three hours to find the problem. but the guy who took the problem is a young guy and only charged me for an hour because it was so weird and he knows i do most of my own repairs, and that i pay for all my own repairs. so basically im out 95 dollars cause my car decided to be stupid, but hopefully i can get the towing money back from my insurance company then i wont feel so bad. but i am glad that i had it towed to the dealer b/c there is no way i would have found that problem myself
