the thing i dont like about the carbonio is they dont offer the old one that looked very nice and was alot more carbon... the new one is a couple metal plates and one carbon cover. i was told by a dealer that the new one is alot better flow and they had some problems with the old one. new one still looks nice but i still think they should have kept it more like the old one looks wise. i have the evo and love the sound and look.

Neither. Both are a waste of money that can go towards something that will actually make power.

if your going BT why get either? your most likely gona run a custom exhaust, or if your getting an atp kit it comes with an intake. both are a waste of money IMO, carbonio being an even bigger waste of money

and actually the audizine heatshield does make a dif. even when the turbo's glowing red the intake is still cool to the touch

and if you do end up getting an intake, install it yourself. even someone who's never worked on a car can do it. and its a perfect way to get more comfortable with working on the car.

Yeah, I'm trying to find a place around here to do a custom exhaust-job. And the ATP GT28RS kit doesn't come with an intake? I won't be going BT until the summertime, roughly. I have alot of other work to do on the car first.

no it does, which is why its pointless to get a new one now. might as well put the money towards something else

Got proof to back up the claims?

Lets put it this way, you have a HOT *** fire and you have 2 differnt temp water (say 40-50* appart like what it would be w/ and w/o sheild) and you add a few drops of water each, what evaperates faster? The answer would be practically the same. Same as for the air when it goes into a hot *** turbo and even more when it compresses it. The air will be roughly the same temp coming out if not the same temp and then be exactly the same after going through the ic. So for the 100th + time, air preturbo doesnt matter. Volume > temp

Still not going to make a differnce. Id keep my money
I'll have to disagree with you on this one. I had just a AEM dryflow filter on the stock maf and after a good 30min drive i could pop the hood and see the rubber around the filter melting. I bought one of the audizine heatshields and installed it today. Wow what a difference, my boost holds around 18-20 psi, I can feel the difference in power just from the heatshield. I touched the filter after 30 min of hard driving and it wasn't hot at all.

You win. Also, just between the two of us, I was thinking about selling my sound system... if I sell that, plus keep the $9138041938409183 that the Carbonio intake costs, I can get a custom exhaust done right now and save enough money to get a coilover kit in another paycheck. Except I have no idea where to get an exhaust done around here [&:]

Edit: riddle me this; since I want to upgrade to the GT28RS, will 2.75" suffice? I don't want to lose backpressure right now with a new exhaust, but I also don't want to replace the exhaust come the new turbo.
