atp kits suck though, i have heard nothing but bad things with those guys, i would buy the kit from 034, they are awesome.

no it does, which is why its pointless to get a new one now. might as well put the money towards something else
You win. Also, just between the two of us, I was thinking about selling my sound system... if I sell that, plus keep the $9138041938409183 that the Carbonio intake costs, I can get a custom exhaust done right now and save enough money to get a coilover kit in another paycheck. Except I have no idea where to get an exhaust done around here [&:]

Edit: riddle me this; since I want to upgrade to the GT28RS, will 2.75" suffice? I don't want to lose backpressure right now with a new exhaust, but I also don't want to replace the exhaust come the new turbo.
most go 3", but 2.75 will work just fine.

Yeah, I was going to go 3", but that'll drop some of the backpressure from the stock turbo, which is what I was worried about.

I just got my Evo Ms intake and it's great. There is better throttle response for a fact and maybe a little better acceleration but i'm not sure how much. I've read that the heatshield is crap and I don't think it's that bad(yes I know pre-turbo temps don't matter that much, i've always thought this and finally CincyTT is beating it to death) I went for a 45min drive the other day and I came home and felt the U-bend and filter and they were not hot. The place that installed it used both the stock and Evoms heat shield and i'm not sure if this is what everyone does or just how they do it but it seems to work.

As far as non-performance upgrades it gives a great sound and looks nice. My dv is 20x louder and the improved airflow also makes a nice noise when your not listening to the radio.

i am keeping my 2.5" exhaust with with my 71r elim. kit that I am getting in december (until i can afford to go bigger). 2.75 will be fine with the real kit, but for maximum performance, 3" will give you the most.

Still not going to make a differnce. Id keep my money
I'll have to disagree with you on this one. I had just a AEM dryflow filter on the stock maf and after a good 30min drive i could pop the hood and see the rubber around the filter melting. I bought one of the audizine heatshields and installed it today. Wow what a difference, my boost holds around 18-20 psi, I can feel the difference in power just from the heatshield. I touched the filter after 30 min of hard driving and it wasn't hot at all.
If you place the filter on the maf its basically sitting on the turbo manifold so of course its going to melt

You heard nothing but bad things about ATP and are going to use a elim? You see the irony there? The atp hardward kit is a good kit, the stock replacement manifold is what people bitch about cracking, not to mention the lag on the elims and you will only save about $400 going this route. Not much of a savings for sub par parts and turbo.

But leifer, EdsGTI on vortex made 500whp on a gt3076r with a 2.5" turboback... so 2.75" will be more than enough for a gt28rs

Got proof to back up the claims? the feeling in my hand after touching my friends intake...but no vag logs if thats what you were looking for

Lets put it this way, you have a HOT *** fire and you have 2 differnt temp water (say 40-50* appart like what it would be w/ and w/o sheild) and you add a few drops of water each, what evaperates faster? The answer would be practically the same. Same as for the air when it goes into a hot *** turbo and even more when it compresses it. The air will be roughly the same temp coming out if not the same temp and then be exactly the same after going through the ic. So for the 100th + time, air preturbo doesnt matter. Volume > temp
ok well would you rather have cooler air rushing into a hot turbo, or hotter air rushing into a hot turbo only to be compressed and get even hotter. im not saying it makes a huge difference, but i think it makes a small one.

Its still going to reach ~ the same temp as said before.

*Edit, if your like the other guy with the filter on the maf, again, your practically sitting the fitler on the turbo manifold

Awesome. The K03 won't have any issues with the 2.75" though, will it?
