Exhaust Blowing, total loss of Turbo/Power - A4 2.0TDi 2005
Hi Guys,
Wonder if someone could help me out, and stop me worrying.
I purchased an A4 Avant 2.0 TDi on a '55 plate a few months ago. Once when I was going up a hill the turbo seem to quit, and I had total loss of power and was down to a crawl by the top of the hill. I pulled over, turned the engine off, restarted it, and it was fine, and has been since, until today.
I pulled from work, and had to put my foot down to get out the Car Park, and there seemed to be a pop, and the exhaust just started to blow.
At first I just thought the exhaust had gone somewhere, and I have booked it in the garage for Monday morning.
But when I come to drive home, and had to climb hills, there is no power whatsoever in it. I get to the top of the hill, eventually, but that is it. There is nothing in the car whatsoever.
Can this be just down to the exhaust being broke, or could it be more serious?
I am rubbish with cars, but I am flapping it is something major, and worse of all, expensive.
Thanks for taking the time to read, any advice would be great,
Steve
