extremely high revs going down hill
I finding my 2004 1.8T A4 is starting to rev extremely high on its own going down hill at highway speeds. I haven't notices this before and my dealer says that is normal for this car ( transmission ) As I find the noise level gets very high, I can't believe Audi would do this on purpose. Is this normal for this car and is there anything I can do as the warrenty comes off in January?
demand that they have the service manager go on a test drive with you, and you bring them to a hill it will do that on... but make sure it does it 100% of the time so you don't look dumb in front of them if the car decides not to rev high down a steep hill.
Its normal, its designed to down shift or stay in a lower gear to keep you from accellerating too much going down hill. If you wanna go fast down a hill like an idiot put it in neutral.
Video idea is great. Going fast is not the issue. The car is down shifting - or something like that when going 60 - 65 mph. andyou start to go down hill. Its likeitstry tokeep that speed with the engine. Its just more extreme than I have experience before. The problem is there is no hills around my area. togo on this the dealer.
