CVT in Tip mode seems to have better response than Auto Tip but then you miss out on Quattro

Yeah the long shift delay in tip mode is VERY annoying...can't wait for a company to come up with a chip for it

 

I think I must be new ... Uhhh what does VAG mean .... If I can do what you are talking about ... diable the downshift in tip mode .... I sure as hell want to!!!

do the b7's still have that extra little click in the gas peddle for downshifting... if they do then give it full gas without clicking the bottom thing, then you wont downshift

 

hey watsup sorry bout the race, BMW suck ***.
Listen your car shifted down in 3rd gear while driving after you pressed full , becasue you hit the kick down button at the bottom. If you press full without the kick down the car will not shift down.

But still i have the same opinion like you bout the tiptronic transmission.

 

Yeah, great suggestion dude. Makes sense, can't believe I didn't think to research it myself. When I'm at the track, it's annoying 'cause I'll want to floor it, but I can't "floor" it without kicking down a gear...so I'll end up being around 90-99% throttle and trying not to trip the switch, when I SHOULD be worrying about that big blue wall 200 feet away. :-)

Any specifics on how to do it, or should I just STFA? Never used a VAGcom before, I'll try looking someone up in my area that has one. Anyone in Rochester NY with a VAGcom want a free case of beer?
