Default RE: Front bumper and water pump help

while your doing water pump. go right ahead and do the timing belt with it. Not much more money on parts and the labor rate shouldnt change at all since you have to take the timing belt off to get to the water pump anyway. To find the engine code, you can look in the trunk, there should be a sticker by the spare tire well that says the code. Probably AEB since your a 99 but check to make sure anyway. Can also take off the plastic engine cover under the hood (3 quarter turn clips hold it in) and it will be stamped towards the back or on the front right side under the cover on a ear that kind of stick out.

As far as bumper. I suggest OEM if not go with a good aftermarket body kit. Try to stay away from fiberglass as they will chip and crack with potholes and stuff then end up costing a lot to repair/replace. Polyurethane kits are the best for durability. And stick with a reputable name brand that will make its quality, durability, and fitment better than most other "cheap" places. lltek has some nice kits but arent cheap by most standards. ebay also but they have mostly fiberglass stuff. so if your budget is rather tight i'd stick with an OEM bumper and save upfor the kit since it will run you a pretty penny.

Good Luck with the a4 and happy modding!
