Default fully depressed pedal?

so, is the fully depressed accelerator pedal of any mechanical significance? it doesn't trigger my turbo, right? does it do anything other than provide some landmark in the flooring of my car? (I'm talking about how when you press the gas pedal down, it goes smoothly until it hits a barrier, which you push through, much like a button, to the final depression of the pedal.) what mechanical ramifications does the pedal serve?

This is a drive by wire car. There is a transponer that sends a signal to the ECU to control the throttle. The force as I recall is not totaly linear.

That resistance you feel at the very end is the kickdown switch. It tells the trans to drop a gear for increased acceleration.

so just don't concern it? like, if I'm flooring it, keep it held down, but otherwise don't worry about it?

Yeah its a normal condition. The ecm should see 100 percent throttle before the kickdown point, but it cant hurt to put it all the way to the floor. Theres actually a basic setting for it in the vag com. The throttle adaptation is basic setting 60. The kickdown adaptation is 63. So if your not getting a trans kickdown when you hit that spot at the end, it may need to be adapted.
