We AudiPhiles refer to that as the HUD (Heads Up Display).

 

I believe there to be ~1 gallon of fuel left when it reads 0 miles to go.

 

i'd second that ~1 gallon since i've pushed mine 10 to 15 miles without getting gas after seeing "0". luckily i don't know when it actually runs out but i was scared @#$%less late one night knowing i was a good 10 miles to a gas station ... and i made it ... on fumes, but i made it.

 

lol. I got a 96 and I didn't make it, 3 times. But my gauge is broken also. So I just wing it 90% of the time.

I get crappy mileage a lot of times, 16-18 mpg if I do 100+ mph everywhere. 20-21 if I baby the hell out of it, shifting at 3-4k and cruising at 70-75 on the highway.
