Before you spend any more money, go but a new 5' vac line and replace the one going from your intake manifold to your dv. If that has any little holes it won't keep your dv holding pressure the way it should. And depending on how they did the leak test they might not have see it. This happened on my car, the line was shredded on the inside of the wrapping and I couldn't see it, no one else saw it eighter. I dicovered it by accident when I was working on my car an got my watch stuck on it and it just snapped apart. The thing was just brittle. Spend the $4 to replace it just to be safe.

Maybe its different for 99.5/00, but my DV vac line connects under the intake manifold to a nipple right next to the oil dipstick. The hose you have highlighted in the top pic in my car also runs under the intake manifold and connects to a nipple on the side of the engine block. My boost gauge is T'd into that line though too. So it seems that there is a difference in vac lines and where they route to in different years. Just thought id make that point so people who are 00+ dont get confused.

I honestly don't think I have (or had) a problem. After reading about it, I've found that altitude can be a real killer - at my altitude, I lose about 15% over someone at sea level.

I changed my spark plugs, and put some more air in my tires, and I'm at about 9.5 seconds now. I know it sounds bad, but I don't think that's bad for my altitude.

My brother's 330i takes 9 seconds 0-60. My dad's pontiac v-8 (can't remember which model) runs 8.5. So I don't think i have a problem. I'm just stuck with this altitude.

Also, Stage 1+ pretty much requires an exhaust and FMIC - which i don't have. Once I get those, I should be a lot better off.

even with the altitude making you lose hp, it doesnt explain why the chip didnt give you any increase. in other word u should at least be running like stock with the chip and the upgrades.

Well, my 0-60 times aren't exactly scientific. And I've said from the start that I can feel the added power. It just wasn't showing up on my 0-60 times. But then again, when i time myself, sometimes it'll vary a second or more. So like i said, the way i was doing it, wasn't that accurate.

I'm just using my butt dyno now - and it feels more powerful than it did before.

Also, I found out that i was already chipped when i bought the car - so that's why there was no difference when i got chipped. And then going to 1+ provided some extra power - but not a ton.

That sucks all that money and time and you didnit see any power cause your baseline wasnt stock, take a day drive down closer to sea level and see if you are getting better power if you are then you know its altitude, if not something wrong, and deff get the FMIC and exhaust

wow, that really sucks my 99.5 A4 1.8t 5 speed runs 0-60 around 8 now with just a test pipe. I can't believe the chip didn't help you at all

Yeah, I run 8.14 with cat back exhaust and an intake... with a full tank of gas, on a hot humid day, with my brother in the car..

We did three runs, never went over 8.1[:-]

Once I go stage 2 revo + testpipe I'm hoping for 6.1-3 seconds.. thats with being mean to my clutch[:'(]

lol, sorry but thats pretty funny. you shouldve known that and if i was you i would play hell with the people that put your new chip in becuase they shouldve known it was already chipped aswell, instead of you waisting a sh*t load of money.
your a little high revving aint ya on that vid......? my auto changes just over 5.5 no where near redline.
i tried to clock my 0-60 today on my watch while i was out. from a stop i got about 7 or 8seconds (i think).
andmines a 2.8L V6 12V with just a KnN-CAI (long RAM), Automatic.
