I have the grinding noise *very slight* on really cold mornings when im upshifting, never downshifting. damn audi tranny's.

 

Ya I hate the ******* at the dealer. probably my least favorite thing about our cars is the dealer. they ****** ripped me off for 2800 dollars. I had a squeal in the front end when I hit a bump, which was when I was new to my car so I didn't know what to do. The car has new springs and shocks on it and the ******** that put em on used a pickle-fork to take everything apart and he tore most of the bushings and couplers so there was a lot of corrossion. this was when I was getting my new wheels and I gottem put on at ntb b/c my dad knows sum1 there, so anyway his know nothing grease buddy friend says that I need it all replaced and that they can't do it b/c their "audi guy" (yes im sure a certified audi mechanic is working at ntb makin half of what he would at a dealership) didn't even want to do it, so this put it in my dads' head that the only people qualified to do this work was the dealership. even though I know a guy who has a shop at the top of my street and he has done audi and v-dub work for 15 years, said he would do it for 1200 bucks. so we take it to the dealer and they give us an estimate of 1900 bucks(already a rip-off) and since they had to replace 6 of the 8 control arms (b/c im sure 6 of them went bad at once) it ended up costin 2800 dollars for 6 control arms two tie rod ends a 4 wheel alignment(which is not aligned properly, and the alignment took 4 hours to do or 380 in service charges(95 dollars an hour)) and 3 bucks for the condom they used to **** me in the ***. and the bitch of it is that i still have the squeek and they won't fix it for free so as far as Im concerned ALL DEALERSHIPS CAN EAT **** AND DIE!!!

 

Usually happens from improper shiting technique. Many hard downshifts to 2nd, forcing the synchros to wear out quickly.

 

and the fact that those six control arms costed me 800 dollars when its only 600 for all 8 from ECStuning[:'(][]
