There's two A4s that I found on Autotrader. Here are the specs.

What's your thoughts?

I will also add the Kelley Blue Book value just for information. I know the dealers don't use this, but it's a good reference.

Exterior Color: Aluminum Silver
Engine: 4 Cylinder Gasoline
Transmission: Automatic with Overdrive

Has cloth seats but moonroof.
Kelley Blue Book Value (retail): $11,140

Car#2

Body Style: Sedan
Mileage: 115,237
Exterior Color: pearl white
Interior Color: Black
Engine: 6 Cylinder Gasoline
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Drive Type: All wheel drive
Leather
Kelley Blue Book Value (retail): $11,425

well it is ultimately your decision either way..but i'll tell you what i think to give you stuff to think about...

the first one looks newer but the seats are cloth..i personally can't stand cloth especially if you're going to be getting an audi...and since i got my audi in stick...i can't imagine going back to an automatic anymore...and i personally can't stand silver cars...but that's just me...

the second one the color combo white/black is awesome..and it has leather..but the interior looks a bit worn out from the pictures...but it's a stick! but i hate wood trim..i like the trim in the first choice better...but, ultimately it has 115,000mi and thats an awfully lot of miles especially since we're not talking japanese cars here...and when i was searching for my car i am really really picky about the mileage (i bought mine with 29K)...even the 56K mi choice seems like a lot to me, but this one is even worse...

truthfully if i was in your position, i wouldn't buy either..i'd wait it out...8K isn't that much but at the same time it is...a car is a big investment and i am really **** about my car so i wouldn't settle for something that doesn't have all the specs that i want especially if i'm gonna be paying a big chunk of change for...but that's just me..for what you're paying i dont think you should rush into getting a car..it took me 2 months to find the exact car i wanted...so no rush, buddy.

Thanks for your input. [sm=smiley14.gif]

BTW, I'm in no rush. My GTP still gets me around. I'm hoping to scoop something up within the next couple of months.

i say dont go for either of those. wait to find a low mileage clean a4 with a stick tranny if thats what you want. try to look for one with the sport package as well. or at least the sport 3-spoke steering wheel, its looks much better.

the first one looks very very clean inside and out, especially the engine bay. the fact that it has cloth and it is automatic are some downsides. its a 1.8t with just under 60k miles so a timing belt job ($600-900) is in the near future. if you plan on modding, a 1.8t is the best platform to go with, as upgrades are much more available and effective.

car #2 has pretty high mileage and you will also be looking at a timing belt job in the future (every 60k mi). pluses are that its a stick, and its got leather. but i think the downsides outweigh the pluses. the wood trim, the high mileage, and the non-sport package make it less desirable.

keep looking until you find the perfect one, no need to jump on somethin just because you can. hope this helped.

Well, I test drove the white one this afternoon. I wasn't interested in that specific vehicle but I have never driven an Audi before so I gave it a run.

The car was in pretty good condition considering the miles. Everything worked and the clutch was strong.

After about 5 minutes, I turned off the radio and A/C to listen for any suspension noises and yep....whaddya know....it was creaking.

When I returned to the dealer I asked the salesman about the suspension noises and he told me all Audi Quattros make those noises because of the all-wheel drive. (yea....right!!!). I also asked about the timing belt and any service records but he didn't know sh*t.

I will say, it's not as quick as my GTP but it is a peppy car when drving hard.

I'm not sure I want to test an auto after driving the 5 speed.
