a chipped a4 should be able to hang w a stock 5.0, not beat or smoke by any means unless the 5.0 driver just sucks

no you do mod for mod per sey, and the 5.0 will not only be done cheaper but way faster than any a4 on the planet

you could get almost a whole new engine in a 5.0 for what a big power a4 turbo will cost
apr stage 3 is what 5 grand, dump that in a 5.0 and watch out

a GT71r(or just 71r) is ATP's eliminator version of the Garrett GT2871r..

they are just the names that differ the two turbosso when people on Audi zine(where there are tons of BT A4s) don't get confused

true, but if you are going to compare them to anything then these would be the closest. they are the garrett turbos that ATP asked garrett to base them off of..

Now you're getting to the heart of it. If the race is going to happen, who says it has to be off the line, on the 5.0's terms? That's their strong suit. Run him on the highway - chaos can probably attest to the fact that they don't breathe all that well up higher in the rev band, so run him on the highway, where road speeds are high enough that he doesn't have a tall enough gear to get down into the sweet spot of his engine. Off the line they're fast, but they're meant for that and it should be no surprise. But who says you have to run him from a standstill. Hell, do a roll-on at 40mph with the K04 and supporting mods and you'll most likely be even or pulling on him the whole time.

 

hahah i have a vid of me racing a 5.0 in my a4. i got my *** kicked like i was standing still. i was still on the stock clutch and running an safc but still he ate me alive. his dad also whooped up on me but he had a kenny bell sc new cobra

 

most likely a t3 .63 3076r with a pagparts setup. He tried totalk me into his new gt35rst.

My neighbor has a 5.0 with a comp cam, roller rockers, hooker headers, andbig fat tires.
One day he asked if i wanted to race him in my old stock SRT-4 (also crap BTW) and i beat him by a car length and a half, he sold the car the following month. I almost felt bad........but not that much.
V8 engines are overated, unless its an LS engine!

 

Srt-4's are great...... for going in a strait line and not much else.
