Heating just won't work! any suggestions?
Changed the thermostat a while ago and did a coolant flush, helped a bit but still didn't heat very well. At the end of august I spent about a week in my garage changing the heater core (I'm new to do-it-yourself and it was a bitch of a job) and that helped a bit more but now that it's getting freezing cold outside the heating still doesn't work like it should. It can blow out a lot of air but the air just isn't hot like it should be. Regardless of how long I drive around for the air is never warmer than mild whereas every other car I drive in puts out super hot air. Overall this is a very annoying issue that I just can't seem to fix, any suggestions?
the temp gauge always goes up to the middle when it warms up and stays there so that's fine. I also searched a bit and people suggested checking the hoses going to the firewall to see if they are hot and when I felt them today they felt warm but not hot (could be a judgement issue?), what could that mean?
