Hi, havent posted in a while.. was out of town. So I was driving for about 40 minutes and my engine light turned on (never does that). I have noticed an increase in heat coming from under the stearing wheel by my feet. What could be the problem... is it something big? could I fix it myself?

P.S. - I havent changed my oil in 4k miles... but keep in mind its fully synthetic.. im doing that in the next week... is it that.... and if so, isnt the oil light supposed to go off?

No it shouldn't have anything to do with the oil. Do you know anyone with a vagcom setup? If not, I would recommend taking up to autozone and they can tell you the code and you can go from there at fixing the problem.

yayyy.... ez fix... thank god.... i got it vagcommd....and it turned out to be a little airflow hose that had a little cut in it... so my friend got another piece and replaced for free... i love connections.... hmmm... for the 99.5 a4 1.8tq tiptronic.. how do you make the shifts faster with a vagcom?.... i've read a few threads.. just dont quite understand... and if there is a way.. does it effect the engine or the car in any bad ways?
