Hello Everyone and Thank all of you in advance.. I have a strange problem with my audi and I am in desperate need of help. My car is an a4 convertible 2003 3.0 and I was driving and my gear went from automatic to tiptronic on its own and it will not get out of 1st gear when I put it in drive it is still in first I can put it in park, neutral, reverse but when put in drive it does not go into drive but goes into 1st gear, tiptronic mode but will not even shift up or down in tiptronic mode. Please help I dont know where to start and I am broke from spending so much money on this car. thank you.

 

Look in the B5 model subforum. At the top is a Vagcom Locator sticky post. Find a member local to you who has Vagcom and will scan your car. You need to see what transmission codes are stored in there - those will help narrow down the issue. Going to a shop will cost you an hour's labor for a 5-minute scan so this will save you some cash up front.
