I tried for hours to program my Homelink to get it to operate the Garage Door......evidently you must first have a garage door opener.....

 

I finally got mine working. One thing I discovered that may help others is that one must hold the button for about half a second for it to open the gate. One touch doesn't seem to do anything for me. I don't know how long I'd had the thing programmed with the right code before I issued the command the right way.

This is kind of annoying, does everyone else have to hold the button briefly instead of just tapping it? And if not, is it possible to change the device's behavior? I'd like it to go off with one quick tap.

 

Mine's the same way, needs to be held down just a little before it will operate the door.......
