I've googled and search my way through every forum yet still can't get it open.

1996 Audi A4
Hood won't open
I pull the lever from the dash, no response
Ran hand up driver side, the wire with the little ball is disconnected from the mechanism
Took off the grill, can only find 2 of the 3 10mm bolts
Have a long flat head screw driver
Ran it up directly in front of radiator, also from the passenger side
I just cant seem to find out which part to move
I see a spring, I also see a peice of metal that looks like it held the little balled-end wire
This whole not being able to open my hood up is a headache
I'd simply take it to the dealer at this point but my battery is disconnected and I need to get under the hood
Any pictures, diagrams, advice, wishes of good luck?

It seems that the cable got disconnected from the retainer. You'll need to remove the center grill and then the three caps that hold the hood latch.
