how do i find out what chip i have?
Cheers for your advice in finding out what chip i have.
At the moment im running up to 19 pound boost when it spikes, will that give me a better clue to what chip i may have or is that totally up to the mechanic who chippped the car and uped the boost?

Anyway, 19psi spiking does not leave a clue as to which chip you have.
As I said before, if you have no paperwork to show for the chip, then you'll have to open the ecu and see if there is a label stuck on the chip - the label would identify the maker and software version. Unfortunately, not all chip makers put a label on their chips.
BTW: Why such a need for the maker of your chip??
Here's an interesting article that appeared May 1998 in European Car Magazine, written by Dan Barnes. It doesn't say what the 0-60 times were, but it gives great insight to what we've been discussing tonight.
