Based on Ohio sales tax rate (6.75%)and a reasonable labor rate ($70/hr) the cost would be about $560. (about a 1/2 hr in labor.) Which is I think exactly what I paid. They are obviously charging you too much for labor. Ask them how much they charge per hour for labor before anything else.

Ok, stop doing business with them. Thats a load of crap. Just send it out. You should have your ecu back within a couple days if you send it out because they do overnight.

Ok looks like I might just do it myself anyways but how many actual days does it take to get the ECU to and back from AWE?

I am planning 3 days the car wont be driving:
1 day to remove/ship
1 day for them to work on it and send it back
1 day for it to arrive back
____
3 days total?

*edit*
This is crazy, I just called em back up and they just said that is without any DV so a bailey would be another $149 plus the labor/tax which would be another $110.

Sounds like bull to me. Hopefully I can knock them way down on this...
Holy Shiz man, never go there, haha, what a rip off. AWE Tuning would be best.

Should be 3 days or so, this is from the website:

AWE Tuning is the largest GIAC dealer in North America.
We have the largest stock on hand to ensure the fastest turnaround. Most chips can be installed and returned to you within 24 hours.

My local shop charged me 50 dollars labor to remove my ecu and solder in the chip. Took all of 15 minutes.

my local stealership installed mine and only charged me 1/2 hr. they said it took longer though, what with having to walk from the car to the office computer and back. lol. but, then again, they wanted to charge me $100 to pull my stereo. even funnier. anyway, these people are robbing you.

mine was 495 + 75, it only takes 20-30 min max.
Sounds right.
+1 mine was 495 +75 as well. it should take only about 30 minutes not 2 hours. they would have to be retarded to take 2 hours.
