When's the last time a timing belt was done in the car? That's what I just spent my $750 on... that and a new clutch, DV, spark plugs, oil change, coolant hoses, drain plug.....

When will it ever end?

lol, I can't believe how many investment answers there are here, especially from guys who have spent a ton on their car mods. How ironic. The guy with the STOCK car should be crashing the mod party and telling him to invest it, but I say put it towards a turbo or don't bother.

maybe the people who have mod'd their car realize that some of it may have been a mistake and the money could have been put towards something with some sort of resale value

i dunno.. i'd rather buy an s4 or a tt than worry about upgrading my car. thats why i bought the v6, i really don't care about it, it was just something to get me to school work and the bar that was somewhat comfortable. although, i'm not wishing i got the 1.8 because it still uses a decent amount of gas. if i were you though, i'd probably go with a set of rims or something.

haha wow, thanks for the responses. first off, screw investing. i'll do that after grad school when i actually have a well paying job. second off, what is a 'g-popshop' ko4? third, i already have a 50cc pocketbike lol.

just to clarify, lets say from now on, suggestions on upgrading the car.... cause lets face it, thats what im gonna do.
I'm sorry but that is a really *****y way to look at things.. I mean to each his own.. But if you are getting $750 for graduation which I imagine you are getting from parents and such its a real slap in the face for you to dump it into a car.. I 100% say invest.. get into a good stock like FRPT (replacing the hummer) or WEGI (hurricane clean up crew) these stocks are going to go up 300% come august.. then you just re-invest it.. This way, after grad school instead of moving back home and trying to save up some extra money for a down payment on a house you can take out the money you invested and move right in.. I'm not some old dude trying to bash you.. I'm 23 pre-med and it sounds like you still have some growing up to do.. If you are going to take $750 people give you to start life after graduation and dump it into an old car that goes down about $3,000 a year when you could invest it. Keep adding to it and in 4 years have $10,000 to pay for a house, or get your family started, put towards your new baby whatever may be. Its your money, do what you want with it.. but whats more impressive? a super fast audi you pick up a girl to take back to your parent's house.. or a semi fast audi you pick up a girl to take back to your house.. think about it

And if you think investing is a game of chance you are wrong.. read some books and learn how the market works.. I started with $250 just because I knew I wanted to get into stocks and thats all I had on me.. and with only a little extra out of my pocket and 3 really good stocks my portfolio went up to $1,400 in the first 2 months.. and it wasn't luck, I knew exactly what the stock was gonna do.. This is the best tip anyone will ever give you.. FRPT, as I said they are replacing the hummer.. the company is called force protection. The stock is down right now because the company just spent a lot of money on new factorys to make the trucks. It is a huge buy spot right now because they are looking at $billions in government deals and with the new factorys they will be able to make more trucks faster.. right now it is at about $24 a share down from almost $29.. Come sept this will be no doubt $55 a share.. some are even saying it will hit $80. Put your money in that and sit on it for 3 months and pull out with more then $2,000 or go long term with it and hope for a stock split! Every stock group, and trading forum I know of agrees FRPT is a sure thing.. It has been on the news and even that D-bag cramer from mad money has said its a sure thing.. If you are smart enought to go to college for your future, be smart with your money.. hey if nothing else sit on it for 3 months then you'll have $2,000 to put into your car... At the very least keep an eye on that stock so I can say "I told you so"

haha, holy crap. I have some growing up to do? Come on. All I'm asking is for suggestions on how to spend the money that I've already allocated towards my car. (I got more money than that for graduation, and I have a job, and I'm already saving plenty... I just want to have some fun with a little of it.)

With exception to the moral life lesson, thanks for all the replies

You got more then $750 for graduation?... are you one of those kid's who always had your parents credit card in your wallet, your parents always paid your phone bill, bought you your car, and paid insurance on it? lol I hate those people lol!! I wasn't aware you had a job... Atleast you got a lot of people beat with that. Like I said your money do what you want with it..

car upgrade: Water/alc injection and manual boost controller.. most hp you can get for your money

RE: how would you spend 750 bucks?
haha, absolutely not, this is the first time I've been given anywhere near this much money. Apparently my grandparents are a lot wealthier than I thought they were. *score* :-P I've bought all my own cars, from the 800 dollar POS corolla I bought in high school, sold it, used the money I saved to get my next car, and so on, til the A4 (paid in full from my savings)... now I chipped it, DV, Boost gauge, and am wondering what's next, short of a BT setup.
