Lol.. you don't know anything about stocks do you? and you're gonna say what if the stock flops? but go do a 50/50 chance in vegas on a roulette table? How are you gonna tell me that a company that just got half a billion $ deal from our government to replace the hummer is going to flop? I got in at $16 a share and its at $26 now after only about 2 months.. It'll be at $70 by sept.. I already told the kid what I would do with the money as far as car wise... Do a simple google search on it Force Protection Inc (FRPT).. I'm just saying he could invest it today.. and pull out in 2 months with double whatever he put in, Or look at a stock chart of NSMG when hurricane katrina hit and even last year with no inland hurricanes it the stock went up 400% and this year they are expecting lots of hurricanes becasue el nino has been replaced with la nina which makes hurricanes.. Stocks are never a "sure thing" but they are much more of a sure thing then vegas and have made millions of people millions of $. To each his own as said before but its not like he isn't going to school and whatever, he sounds pretty set.. And I wasn't saying he was spoiled that was me messin around.. at first it sounded like he had a very negative attitude and thought money just grew on trees.. But it looks like he has his head on straight.. I was giving my .02, Infact... I'm sorry if I offended you bro and I wish you the best of luck with your car, school and life...

Lol, nice advice.
While investing is not a bad idea, stock market is by far no sure bet. What if the stocks you suggested flop? And he looses the 750?
Just go to vegas, for 750 you can easily enter a few texas hold-em tourneys, and become a millionare.
Or put it all on "hummer", I mean "black" on the roulette table, trust me if it hits you'll double your money, and then you can go over to the blackjack table, and then the slots, heck you'd walk out of there with a cool million (or some worthless stocks).

$750 - I'd sayexhaust, with test pipe, and a drop in k&n panel filter, since you have chip and dv.

Put the money in the car if thats what makes you happy. If you are doing something that you like with the money, the money giver should be happy for you as long as its not to buy drugs or whatever. $750 is trivial compared to how much a high school/college grad is likely to make throughout their lifetime.. Should someone argue that $750 is not trivial, I would tell them to sell their REAL $1200 XEON HEADLIGHTS and invest that $$ in douche bags.

Lol - I was kidding about the gambling. You know, joking, poking fun, "making a funny".
While I do know a little about stocks, as my retirement account is invested in many different mutual funds, most guys in high school dont have the time, knowledge, or desire to learn the ropes of investing in the stock market.

In fact, I am still working my way up to investing directly in stocks. Its much safer to diversify your risk with mutual funds, you will almost never lose money, except in a big downturn like we had in 2001 after the twin towers destruction.

How much money did you make in the stock market in 2001-2002?
So, dont tell me its not risky, because many uncontrollable things can affect the stockmarket, no matter what stock its in, I dont care how much of a sure thing you think it is.

I am still working on the rules that any financial analyst will tell you, which is before you ever put a dime in the stock market you should:
Have no credit card debt
Have at least 6 months salary invested in a liquid savings account
Have a retirement account set up and put the maximum amount allowed in to it.

You want a real good investment tip? Forget the stock market, and start buying real estate right now while the market is down. You will get a much higher return without almost no risk at all. That is where I am concentrating my investing efforts at the moment.

Anyway, Im glad you are interested in investing, good luck to you, I hope you make enough money to trick your car out to your hearts desire!

No offense taken at all by your posts, I was just being funny, and comparing the stock market tips to gambling, because of the risks involved.

My bad... and the answer to your question is no money.. but you know when Is a good time to get out.. agree with realestate being great.. Only problem with realestate is you need a lot more money to start out then with stocks..

No prob, and no need for anger managment. I wasn't actually yelling in real life or anything..

Was just bugged by the fact people are taking your simple question and twisting it into ways that you didn't ask to hear

I'm calm, haha
