how would you spend 750 bucks?
Bahaha. Funny thread. Kid comes in here, and asks for what mods he should get with $750, and people read that as "what investment advice can you give someone with $750". He didn't ask you to plan out his financial future.
Anyway, I'd save up a bit, and get coilovers.

And if you think investing is a game of chance you are wrong.. read some books and learn how the market works.. I started with $250 just because I knew I wanted to get into stocks and thats all I had on me.. and with only a little extra out of my pocket and 3 really good stocks my portfolio went up to $1,400 in the first 2 months.. and it wasn't luck, I knew exactly what the stock was gonna do.. This is the best tip anyone will ever give you.. FRPT, as I said they are replacing the hummer.. the company is called force protection. The stock is down right now because the company just spent a lot of money on new factorys to make the trucks. It is a huge buy spot right now because they are looking at $billions in government deals and with the new factorys they will be able to make more trucks faster.. right now it is at about $24 a share down from almost $29.. Come sept this will be no doubt $55 a share.. some are even saying it will hit $80. Put your money in that and sit on it for 3 months and pull out with more then $2,000 or go long term with it and hope for a stock split! Every stock group, and trading forum I know of agrees FRPT is a sure thing.. It has been on the news and even that D-bag cramer from mad money has said its a sure thing.. If you are smart enought to go to college for your future, be smart with your money.. hey if nothing else sit on it for 3 months then you'll have $2,000 to put into your car... At the very least keep an eye on that stock so I can say "I told you so"

While investing is not a bad idea, stock market is by far no sure bet. What if the stocks you suggested flop? And he looses the 750?
Just go to vegas, for 750 you can easily enter a few texas hold-em tourneys, and become a millionare.
Or put it all on "hummer", I mean "black" on the roulette table, trust me if it hits you'll double your money, and then you can go over to the blackjack table, and then the slots, heck you'd walk out of there with a cool million (or some worthless stocks).
$750 - I'd sayexhaust, with test pipe, and a drop in k&n panel filter, since you have chip and dv.
i dont know if anybody said it bacause im too lazy to read, but get a techtonics exhaust and maybe their DP if you have enough left over money. i heard there pretty good.
but then you could always save it (lol)

Well, since he has now said he's allocated the $750 to the car I'm hoping that means he's done his fair share of saving. I only suggested a mutual fund for retirement because of lessons I learned through:
1) grandmother leaving me $7k - which I proudly spent $3k on a computer for college. In 1995 that was the standard and looking back wtf was wrong with me? $3k for a computer!!!! I thought it was a good investment for college. It was a Pentium100 w/16Mb RAM! WASTE (I did learn a lot about PCs from destroying that poor thing, though)
2) Spending the other $5k on a truck and $1k in my highschool graduation money for new wheels and tires for my truck only to have them totalled on the NJ Turnpike by the ars behind me. I got insurance $ for the truck but not the wheels. WASTE
The moral is, if you've already saved and allocated the $750 for your car, great. I support the timing belt change. If not that, then anger management for Amze. Just please don't waste it on useless crap. If you do, pray as a young driver your newbness won't catch up with you make you cry over spilled transmission fluid. If you haven't saved anything, let me put forth that the early years count when it comes to compound interest.
Oh, and if you think you'll have money after grad school - hahahaha. I had more disposable income when I was younger! Loans are killer!
