I did race a Integra and....
Im with you on this to a very small degree. I had a 96 civic ex with cam, full exhaust, cai, fuel mods suspension and I would scare alot of faster cars. I remeber in my DSM right before I swapped for a b16g (turbo that is) I raced a civic and I put him away, but he was suprisingly fast and I ackowledged that too. Althought there are some honda tuners out there not trying to rice things up and make "show stoppers", and I give you guys all the respect you deserve, but 95% of honda "performance owners" are trash talking ricers. As for the 5% Ive seen alot of people cry because of them.

I agree with you on this too....but stock type r's run mid-high 14s. The gsr's run low 15s. The reason to buy a type r is for the diff spoilers, closer geared tranny, more hp engine, sweeter interior, and superiour handling(which is one of the best fwd). The people you guys are racing that are running 15.7's in gsr's obviously can't drive for sh*t or their compression is lower than it should be. If you look at car and driver, or road and track, or any other big mags, they tested stock gsr's that ran a 15 flat.

The actual body on the Type-R is completely different from any other DC2 frame... The welds are different, the supports are different, the entire frame is different, it's not the same car as a GS-R or LS. No where near.
The engine is golden. Of course there are MUCH more powerful set ups out there, but as in stock form, Honda engineers did a fantastic job of building a strong engine.
The suspension is great, the braking is incredible, the aesthetics are amazing, everything about the Type-R is better. Granted, the car wasn't designed to be the fastest car in the Honda fleet, it wasn't designed to beat anything it came up against. It was designed with one thing in mind: Having a car, that all the parts worked together well. The entire car works together, the suspension isn't over done, the powertrain isn't over done, the aesthetics aren't over done, everything works perfectly together, which is the key to tuning.
It takes a certain Honda aficionado to truely appreciate what the Type-R is... Most people just bash it because they don't know what they're talking about, and they can't appreciate what it is.
And Liquid, I'm curious, with those engine modifications on your Civic, what fuel management were you running?
What supporting modifications did you install on your DSM to work with the 16G you swapped on? How much boost were you running?
Sorry for all the questions, I'm just curious.
