have nothing to do with this post. But now that i have your attention. I have an 01 1.8t that wont excelerate. At partial throttle the car takes off ,but as soon as i give it half or full throttle the car falls on its face. (wont excelerate at all) I'm thinking that this is a faulty diverter valve am i correct?

could be alot of things do you have a boost gauge

 

ok ok i'm here, i ran as fast as i could...

no boost gauge... what else could it be?

 

Check for boost leaks... maybe you have a hose that isn't tight

 

i already brought the car to the place i purchased it from they checked all the hoses and sai they couldn't find a leak

 

is the car all stock, any mods and if so what are they.. need a little more info.. no check engine light..

 

no cels car is completely stock with the exception of a kn panel filter.... fyi turbo is very loud

 

i had the same problem, it was a coil pack

is the cutting out sudden and jerky, or sort of smoothe and it feels like there is just no power.

coil pack = sudden cut out and jerkyness

somthing else = smooth decline of power

 

turbo is very lound.. interesting.. loud compared to what? have you been in another audi to compare it to.. I would get a boost gauge to see what your boost is at even if you just buy a cheep one and dont fully install it atleast you can eliminate a boost problem, could be getting a limp mode which restricts the boost.. also try disconecting the MAf to and drive it around see if that changes anything..
