The 2.0T motor will blow the DV and PCV valve within a week of chipping the ECM, the car you drove probably was only boosting a max of 10 psi. Let me guess....didn't have a boost gauge?
When I chip mine, if i go with the new Forge DV, is that all i'm going to need to keep everything running well?

^^^ no it is a completly different 3.2 that is in the A4 and A6 that is in the A3 and TT the one in the A6 A4 is your normal V6 engine where the A3,TT uses the VR6 with a single head completely different from each other
I forgot "output". they both produce about the same power (250hp and about the same in tq) and with just a chip, the 1.8t will walk a 3.2.
chipped 1.8T... 210 hp, 240 ft/lbs

stock 3.2.... 250 hp, 245 ft/lbs

the weight difference isn't that much, so how in the hell is a chipped1.8T going to "walk" any 3.2? [:-]

I was refiring to the TT's, the 225 version vs a 3.2. It is no contest. The 225 would beat it by atleast a car and a half.

Still gonna need that upgraded PCV valve

I was under the impression that the 2.0T motor does not require an upgraded DV because the factory unit is an electronic valve. Am I mistaken?

I'm amazed how many of you are comparing, straight across, a 2.0T "chipped" A4 and a stock 3.2 A4. What a complete waste of time your time. One of them has 2 more cylinders, 1.2 more liters of displacement and a completely different power band for both horsepower and torque. You just can't compare the two. Flywheel numbers don't mean jack ****... ever. What you need to focus on are three things: power delivery, weight and driver skill. If you effectively compare those variables you'll get the results I think you're looking for.

Here is an example...

2 Cars. Each with 250hp +/- 5hp and 250ft lbs or torque +/- 5ft lbs. The have the same power curve. You have the same drive train, the same wheels, the same tires and the same driver. One car weighs 200lbs more than the other (in this case the 3.2 liter car). All other things are equal. The result is the 3.2L will be slower strictly due to the added weight.

Now in the real world you'll never have the same power curve, the weights vary according to load at time of test (occupants, fuel), the drivers are usually never the same (skill), the tires are probably different, the wheel are most likely different, one may have more mileage on the engine adding to power loss and the atmospheric conditions may adversely affect a turbocharger more than they would a naturally aspirated engine.

My case and point... a completely frivolous comparison.

So no more drag races or NASCAR anymore. All forms of racing mean nothing now.

You just can't compare the two. Flywheel numbers don't mean jack ****... ever. What you need to focus on are three things: power delivery, weight and driver skill. The 2.0T will make peak tq sooner and more of it with a chip all while having simular hp and being much lighter.

Here is an example... Yeah, deleted the lame example. Let me know if you need a recap

The PCV is for venting the valve cover pressure back to the intake.

Yes, yes you are

The factory valves are diaphragm based and are know to fail quite frequently.
