Im not holding boost after getting the APR chip???
I just installed my forge 007 DV and i didnt notice any boost gains. This is by feel because i dont have a boost guage yet. I am APR chipped. The green spring came with the DV, but a yellow and blue one came as well. I think i will try the blue one next. IDK why some of you are saying the green one is the best.......it certainly does nothing for me. Perhaps they are inconsistent with the spring constants in their products (forge).
you do know this thread is over a year old right?? If I were you I wouldnt put the blue spring in its mean for over 24psi of boost which I doubt your making with just a chip. The green spring is the best for stock and chipped setups. And your not gonna feel any performance after installing a DV....you need to search before you get flamed
I have an APR 93 program and the 710N diverter valve. I hold about 16 pounds boost (1.1 bar) measured with a vagcom, until the K03 starts running out of steam at the higher RPM.
Tooextreme I realize the thread is old, but it seemed the most appropriate and was the most helpful with my spring questions....believe me ive read almost every DV thread in these forums. I agree with you that the blue is probably a bad idea.....so I am only going to go to the yellow...according to Forge this should be ok...cant hurt to try. Also, my bashing of the green spring was premature.....ive been commuting all week on cruise control, so i need to beat on the car again to have it relearn aggressive driving, then i can really judge if its holding boost better.
Here's the skinny on the springs, you want to use the softest possible. That being said the green may prove to be to soft for a chipped car, and in most cases it is. We usually recommend that the yellow be used on cars that have been flashed. And in some rare cases are car that is spiking to something near 20 psi may need to run a washer or two with the yellowor move up to the blue spring. There are many variables that come into play so a little trial and error might be needed.
