Anyone ever have their immobilizer ring go out? My car has been sitting at the dealer for a week now exactly (this is after a day of owning it). The service guy said the part was ordered from Germany so it'll be here when it'll be here. Nota happy camper here. They gave me a loaner but I wanan enjoy my 5spd.

I have never heard of the immobilizer ring going out.....I have seen an immobilizer ecu go out once in a 07 Camary, It was the hardestpartI have ever replaced. I had to remove everything under the dash, everything. All that was left was the front crossbar connecting the two sides of the unibody and took almost 9 hours.You had all kinds of leg room though with no dash steering column ac sytem or piping, no radio and no ecu's, it was like a limo.

 

Sounds like a pretty isolated incident. I'd call Audi NA about it...
