RE: Installing BOV
why would you put something on your car that has the potential for causing damage just so you can make some noise that appeals to 17 year olds and honda drivers?

RE: Installing BOV
As the allmighty IMOLAS4 once said... and i quote..
The Audi turbo system is a closed loop system by which all unused boost that is spooled during off throttle and gear shifts must be re-routed within the system; it cannot be vented to the atmosphere due to the dependence on the MAF and ECU to properly read and interpret air flow dynamics within the intake tract. Therefore BOV's (Blow-Off Valves) are not used because they create a rich air/fuel condition (i.e. less air to fuel ratio) which will damage the catalytic converter, create soot on the exhaust pipes, and cause occasional misfiring (due to the purged air) which will result in ECU miscalculated timing adjustments and other errors.
For Audi closed loop turbo systems, a BPV (By-Pass Valve) or DV (Diverter Valve) is needed to recirculate the purged air and keep it within the intake tract.

RE: Installing BOV
kinda late here...but installin a bov on a4 is quite a bitch...put a H-25 if anything..but since u bought ur BOV..ask ur self is it spring loaded (like turbo xs uses) or is it seqentuatil... the differance is the spring loaded one u need a certain amount of boost for it to open up to make tha ear peirceing freshness...but a seqential opens up on a nothing even half a pound will do...now ask ur self this did u hook up ur t-bar...tha tube tha plumbs back some back in your manifold...when i installed my TURBO-XS type H (Really FINg LOuD) i didnt hear crap...then i thought i had no boost...so i changed my trubo and all the wiring set me back about 400 bucks...Good thing i did because the boost plate off the watse was GONE = no boost lol...so ceheck ur t-bar an only send it back to the manifold and no were else... thats why ur not gettin tha sound...and my Bov is spring loaded an require ten pound...i'm stock as with exhaust only...so there is some problem there....also were did u place the bov by the turbo or close the intercooler...intercooler is a better place..easy to get hold of.
So iguess check these things and get back to us...hope i was of any help
P.S = screw any1 that tells u a bov is no place for a 1.8..thats ur car and you can do wat u like!
