Default installing K&N air filter

Swapping out from the stock. But I have a really newb question -- where the **** is the stock air filter? Pics would be helpful for installation purposes. I went through the manual, and the K&N doesn't really come with instructions for the specific model that it's for.

On the left side of the engine bay theres a black plastic cover. Take that off and you will see then see air box. After that you then just need to undo the 4 clips holding the cover and you'll have access to the filter.

I know that little black plastic thing you're talking about, but that doesn't look anything like an air box. ******* sneaky German technicians in their lab coats, I bet they're all laughing right now saying "JA WE FOOLED DAS AMERIKAN OOOH JA"

Anyways, yeah. I'll let you know how it goes.

K installed properly. I can definitely hear the engine being able to breathe now. I noticed that the stock plastic piece of **** intake was cracked, is that bad?

u might get a check engine light soon and rough idle. don't worry bout it cuz it's the oil from the filter fouling up the MAF. just get some electric component cleaner.

What do I clean now? I didn't have any problems when I took it for a quick (very quick, actually) spin around the block. Is it pretty much guaranteed that the factory oil will mess with the MAF and give me problems?
