Default Interior lighting MOD-Keeps Blowing fuse.

Ahoy all,

I'm trying to switch out all my interior lights with red ones. I bought both red glass bulbs and LED bulbs.
All were the right size (as per sylvania's bulb guide) But it keeps blowing my fuse.

Any suggestions?

Can I up grade the fuse?

I thought the LED's would work for sure as they pull almost no AMPS. like 0.5 or less.

Thanks,
-C

If its blowing the fuse, you may have shorted something out. If everything is fine, and you just need to draw more current, then use a fuse with a higher amp rating.

I personally think your car is trying to tell you something about your taste for modifications. It would probably bitch slap you if it could..... Poor Audi....[] Youre gunna need night vision gear to see anything at night inside the car with red illumination everywhere

Thanks 96audia4 for the info, I will try a higher rating fuse.

onepoint8tee gonna bitch slap me? Ouch....Cheeky bastard!

My sister's co-worker had an A6 with the same mod, Looks killer because all the Gauges and Radio/shifter lights are red to start with.

Also, red is the only color light that is legal to drive with on. FYI

And yes it works well, you can see fine onepoint8tee.

The planes i fly have red overhead lights for map reading and stuff at night and its nice once your use 2 it. No destroying your night vision searchin 4 a chart.

IMOwould'nt try and change out any of the interior lights, you could think about adding them in new spots, but any red lighting especially LED's inside your car are going to ruin visibilty unless they are in a giant cluster which wouldnt really workout if there being used in stock positions, andthe only purpose they could serve is to help you see things inside your car. If your going for some colored interior lighting think about placing them in different positionsnot just replacing all your stock cabinlights.

ALSO, imgoing to have to say thatlooking at a map inside a still flyingairplane is a little different than trying to find your cell phone under the passanger seat on the freeway at night...

Uh, not a great idea. Better bet would be to put a resistor inline with the LED to create a larger load in the circuit. The fuse ratings are there for a reason - not just to protect the bulbs, but the wiring and connections as well.
