Does anyone know of a better replacement for these junk oem rear wheel bearings for a A4 1.8 Turbo 2000? Replacing wheel bearings @ every 30K is not a natural act.

where'd you get yours from? i wouldn't recommend ebay for something like this...ecstuning is probably your best bet

 

I would never buy a wheel bearing on ebay. We get these bearing that are OEM from Worldpac and the bearing are professionally installed. Audi wheel bearings are destroyed in 30k. What is bad, this is my wife's car and she doesn't drive it hard at all, like I would if it were mine.

 

are you sure they're OEM? audi wheel bearings are a common issue but every 30k is excessive. i'm at 150k miles and i'm on all original wheel bearings.

 

I've got 122,000 on my original bearings.

I'd be real suspicious of the source or the install.

 

Yea, I checked and the wheel bearings are OEM. I also checked with a Audi dealer and they are having the same problems with some A4's. It's weird that some cars like yours can go 150k on the same wheel bearing and a lot of them are getting replaced @ 30k. Sime I'm one of the one's having to replace them at 30k, I'm not too happy, it does get expensive.

I would expect you have a defect in your hub(s).

 

If this is the case, there are a lot of Audi A4's with defective hubs around. I bet I've seen at least a dozen and like I said the Dealers in the area are seeing a lot of them also.
