Default Just bought an 03 A4 1.8t.......Nervous

Hi,

I just picked up an 03 Audi A4, with 39,000 for 15,900. Shes beautiful, pretty much in perfect shape, black, sport suspension. I am a bit nervouse about the car, maybe some more expierenced Audi drivers can calm my nerves a bit.

1. For some reason second gear seems to be a bit rough shifting into the gear, does anyone know what causes this, or is this a common problem?

2.Car seems to whine out a bit, maybe I just need to get used to driving this, it seems as if you do not have the gas pedal far enough down the turbo is not on, yet the RPM's are still high. Does anyone else expierence this.

Besides this, the car drives great, hugs the road nice, and seems to have pretty good pep. Maybe I am just freaking out a bit becuase it is the first car I have ever purchased. If anyone else knows some common problems I should be on the look out for that would be helpful. Thanks for taking a minute to read and answer my questions.

Pat

If its stick, maybe the previous owner wasnt good with stick and this was his starter car. If so the syncros could be beat up and that would make it tough to get into gear. Its not major unless it starts poping out of gear under hard acceleration.

Also fromt he factory the turbo is set for very conservative use, so you wont get a lot of boost until you chip it.
