I recently purchased a 2007 A4 2.0T. Now while I have done a number of searches, I have not been able to find what the stock boost is (well maybe a guess or two). I have also heard people saying the K03 is fine to 11, 12, and as much as 15 lbs of boost. I am curious what the stock boost is and how much you can boost it without impacting the life of the turbo. I am looking to make a couple of performance mods and was thinking chip, exhaust, and intake.

not uncommon to spike to 21-22 with a chpped 1.8

i dont knwo how it is wiht the 2.0's

 

uhrm... idk about 2.0's but stock 1.8's run like 7 or 8 psi

 

Assuming that the B7 uses the same K03, it boosts about 6 to 7 psi stock.

 

thanks ... It appears it is the same K03 turbo in the B7. 6-7 psi does not seem like much since my mopar turbo from the 80s did about 8-9 psi. It seems boosting to almost twice as much would impact the turbo's life. Been reading that about 12 is the maximum the k03 should be boosted and around 17 could cause some damage.


Has anyone been chipped for like 60,000 with no issues?

 

I've been chipped for 80K,. The car now has 160K miles. No issues.
