Hey guys, this maybe a newbie question. (I did search and nothing really useful came up, so plz don't flame me) If I get a k04 upgrade will I need to get a larger / more efficient IC, or would stock do fine?

You wont need one, but it will help. What will likely help more is an upgraded exhaust.

Yeah, Apr exhaust comes with the kit I'm buying.

if you go with pc-j31 then you need fmic.
