Keep it or Sell it?
I have a 02 A4 1.8T FWD. I've had it for over two years, I bought it off a private owner and before that it was a lease. 54K when I bought it for $17K.
$2,180: X-mas 2008 it broke down, this one was my fault. I bought an AFE intake and it got sucked into the turbo. Had a shop replaced with a new turbo and put in original intake along with other maintenance.
New:
K&N Air Filter
PCV values (old ones corroded)
Timing belt
NGK Spark Plugs
Boost Pressure Valve
$230: Three days after I get it back from the shop my water pump goes out. I didn’t know it was run by the timing belt! I couldn't believe the shop didn't recommend to replace it while they were doing the timing belt. This was a shop specializing in VW/Audi's (not going ot same the name but they are located on Lone Cactus Rd.). Fixed this one on my own.
New:
Water pump
Thermostat
Temp. Sensor
Flush Coolant
$550: 4 months later it breaks down again. Fuel pump went out.
New:
Fuel Filter
Fuel Pump
$300: Last month the radiator cracked.
New:
Radiator
Upper/lower hoses
Today it has under 96K miles on it and it:
~$275: It vibrates when idling, most likely the motor mounts are done for. so those need to be replaced.
?$?: Today the car is miss firing, I'm not sure if it's vacuum or timing yet. Taking it to a shop up the street on Monday. But the engine shakes pretty bad when warm. Not sure what to expect on cost.
~220: The driver side CV joint is gone causing a nice back message (vibration) going down the freeway. Might as well get both replaced right?
~250: Power steering pump is leaking. Needs to be replaced
If I fork over the money and get the four issues above fixed should I keep it or sell it?
What else could go wrong with the car?
I love my A4, the way it looks and drives. I don't want to get rid of it but I don't want to become poor by keeping it.

Shop up the street said the #4 ignition coil is gone. I saw there is a recall on this so I called Audi USA. They will fix it on thier expense and even pay for towing up to $100 so I am happy about that.
