Kid who bought my car is pissing me off.
well that sucks, i have once tried this before too (payment plan with an 18 year old) and same sort of thing happened. Allow this to be a lesson well learned. report the car stolen, take it bakc give him back everything - 1300 (he fucked the steering and he must pay. he admited he didnt use audi fluid and its completle his fault) so make him pay for that. then find someone with cash and sell them the car
difficult situation ( personally I wont say what I would do ) but you can guess but was the car worth that much and have you had a deal and making a big deal over it? you get petrol for nothing so whats $500 that wouldn't half fill my tank ) what will the law think? you have the winning hand and hes testing you

I would tell him he only owes you 200 dollars. I would just cut your losses at that because if it does go to small claims court it will cost you about 300 dollars anyway. This way your car is sold, you dont have to worry about fixig any thing and in his eyes you gave the 300 dollars he asked for. It sucks to end it this way but at least it ends a big headache, not to mention releases you from any liability if he were to get in accident driving YOUR car. Sorry to hear about this.but so goes the old saying " the nice guy finishes last"

+1. Dealing with people is annoying because by defenition, people are stupid. I would either go with what this guy said, OR. as long as he knew about the problems it had WHEN U GAVE IT TO HIM not after, then he is SOL because it was allready set.

DO NOT REPORT THE CAR STOLEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It will only cause more harm to you and the car! It will forever be a blemish on the Vin # Plus the car was not stolen. It was a deal that went sour. How much was the sale price for? If over 3kI dont think small claims court can help you. You would need to get in front a Judge with a Laywer and the will cost a lot more then the 1k you can keep or the 500 he still owes. I would just let the kid keep the car. How much is your time worth to you? Mine is worth a lot so to lose 500 bucks and have to deal with this for the next few months would not be my thing. I know you feel like you have just been Screwed, and the truth is you have. You really have two options at this point to repo the car or fight to get your money back. If you do repo it you have to file it through the state so when he calls in to report it stolen they can let him know that it has just been repoed. Sorry that you are having to deal with this. It really sucks and hope it works out for you!
Another +1 to that idea - get it over with and wash your hands of the situation. Deduct the cost of the repair from what he owes you, collect the remainder, and sign the title over. Then if he's out driving untagged and uninsured, and causes a wreck, they can't come back on you about it.
He can sue for $500 in small claims court. That would be the amount in dispute.
I totally agree with doing a settlement with him. If you come to an agreement,
make sure he signs a statement which states he now owns the car,
thatyou keep.
