You just have to master tha launch, revving it to a good RPM and slipping the clutch to hold your RPM's high. Did you the run the entire 1/4 mile or was it just the 1/8?

ebraking launching and getting ready to shift all at the same time seems hard 4 me. with my luck i would forget to put the e-brake down......

If you are in 1st gear with your right hand on the ebrake, right foot on gas and left foot on clutch i dont see how hard that is. Once you launch let go of the ebrake and grab the shifter to get ready to shift into 2nd when the time comes. I know 1st gear is a short one, but its not short enough that you wouldn have enough time to move your hand forward 8 inches after you launch and get to redline and shift to 2nd. ???

I tried both methods this morning.

For sure, either way works. You have plenty of time to let the ebrake off and then shift.

I still would use my heel, that works as well, but Im not at a drag strip either, just a stop light so its not a big deal.

Both methods felt fairly comfortable for me.

I dont see why everyone is acting like that is such a hard thing?? thats how i usually do it while im at the track with any car cause its easy if you have a problem with rolling....
