Has the timing belt/water pump been changed? Here are some things to think about:

Change engine oil
Change engine oil filter
Replace air filter element
Replace spark plugs
Replace accessory drive belt
Replace timing belt
Replace timing belt tensioner pulley
Replace timing belt idle roller
Replace water pump
Replace coolant thermostat
Change engine coolant
Change brake fluid
Change power steering fluid
Replace climate control dust and pollen filter
Check transmission fluid level
Check electrolyte level of battery
Check brake pad and rotor thickness
Check CV boots for cracks
Check windshield washer fluid level
Check air pressure in spare tire
Inspect engine for leaks
Clean guide rails of sliding roof and lubricate with silicone spray
Check tension and condition of timing belt
Check dust seals on ball joints and tie rod ends
Check water drain valve in plenum chamber
Check engine idle speed (not for models with ODB)
Check OnBoard Diagnostics (OBD) fault memory and clear if necessary

ack, no it's a belt trust me. It should be your first priority right now. After 60-70k miles, you are driving at your own risk.

if your belt goes...your engine goes. make sure it's been replaced.
