Maybe a dumb question but Search didn't help...
...I was curious and had no luck with search. Does anyone know, or have a link to, the generally-accepted and published acceleration times for the B5 A4? I'm curious what either the automotive media or the population in general have found to be the typical 0-60, 1/4 mile, etc times for the B5 generation A4s. I'm assuming that they're running between 15 and 15.5 in the 1/4, with a 0-60 maybe in the 7-7.5 second range, but I'd like to find out for sure. This is what I'm guessing for the 2.8 30V (which is what I have), but I'm interested in any/all of the B5 engine models. Anyone know?
Also, just as a sidenote, since our dash illumination is all red, where exactly is redline on these cars (again, 30V)? I know how the graduation marks on the tach thicken past 6k, but where is the actual redline, and what constitutes the range some people call "yellow line"? I haven't taken my car past 5500, but I wouldn't want to find redline by slamming into a limiter, and it's less than clear on the tach itself.

the previous(and original) owner of mine had brochures and articles from 97 when mine was released, i think your numbers are pretty bang on...7.5 0-6, and 15-15.5 1/4, now thats quattro, i would imagine frontrak would be slightly different

I figured it'd be in that range, and my car is a quattro. However, weren't the 97s running the 12V engines? If so, I'd think the 30V would be a little quicker in each respect. Maybe not, but it stands to reason that a more advanced engine with that better breathing system would probably have a little more *** to it and would clip a couple tenths off those times.
