Misfire and running rich
I have a 1996 A4 2.8. Last week I was driving home, then all of a sudden the car started runningreally wierd and vibrating and the check engine light started flashing. As soon as i got it off the road I checked the codes, and it detected a misfire in cylinders1 and 6 (both plug into the same coil). It also said that both bank1and 2 were running rich. Other forums say to switch the coil packs around to see if the misfire changes cylendars, but the three coils go into two wiring harnesses and don't unplug anywhere before that. Is it possible to switch those around on my model? I am planning on replacingall threecoil packs (because you have to buy them all together the way I understand it) to see if that fixes the problem.
If anyone has any suggestionsI would appriceate it, or let me know if you have had any simmilar problems. Thanks!

I'd think you would be able to swap the coil packs around without too much trouble, but I haven't messed with that on my own car so I can't say for sure. However, as for replacing them, remember to check Classifieds here - there are a few guys parting out cars, and I'd bet you can get a single coil pack from one of them and save yourself a pile of money.
