model feature?

1998 A4 Quattro 2.8 stick. Did this car originally come with an auto-dimming rear-view mirror?

I don't think they did. My 99 doesn't have one. It could've been optional, but it wasn't a standard feature that I know of.

I was just wondering. It looks like the mirror has been replaced and I thought maybe they went to a standard mirror. My Jetta's had the auto-dim feature and it works really well.
